Clinical Significance
Coronary heart disease is the most common disease in the cardiovascular system, and atherosclerosis (AS) is an important pathological basis for the formation of coronary heart disease. During the pathogenesis of AS, oxidized low-density lipoprotein usually appears, and then macrophages gob lipids into foam cells. The formation of foam cells plays a key role in the pathogenesis of AS. Studies have found that MPO plays a role in promoting the formation of AS lesions. By producing free radicals and various reactive substances, MPO promotes the formation of plaque and the increase of instability, accelerates the progress of AS, and then causes a variety of complications, such AS acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The study found that the risk of cardiovascular disease was significantly reduced in individuals with MPO deficiency. Increased MPO levels are not only associated with increased susceptibility to coronary artery disease, but also predict the risk of early myocardial infarction.
Inspecting Principle
Anti-myeloperoxidase antibody sensitized latex granules were used to meet with bone marrow oxidase in the liquid phase of the sample to be tested, and insoluble antigen-antibody complex was immediately formed, and certain turbidity was produced. The turbidity reflects the content of bone marrow oxidase in the sample. The content of bone marrow oxidase in the sample can be calculated by comparing it with the same treated calibration.
